Dolphins DL Vonnie Holliday will miss at least one-to-two weeks after suffering a lower leg fracture in Sunday’s loss.
Rodrique Wright, who was active for the first time all season Sunday, is likely to replace him in the starting lineup. Holliday is an integral part of the Dolphins’ pass rush in both their 4-3 and 3-4 fronts, so it’s a big loss.

  • FA Defensive Lineman #91
Dolphins DT Vonnie Holliday (ankle) is expected to start Sunday.
Holliday missed four games after fracturing his right ankle and will test it out in full pads during Wednesday’s practice. Fellow lineman Rodrique Wright would continue to start if Holliday were to suffer a setback.
  • MIA Linebacker
    Dolphins released LB William Kershaw.
Kershaw has bounced around the league for the past few seasons; he’s a practice body. The Dolphins also cut ties with DE Rodrique Wright, WR Brandon London, and S Courtney Bryan.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #93
The Dolphins are expected to keep second-round pick Phillip Merling at his college position, defensive end.
It kills his IDP potential, but Merling is well suited to be a stout, blocker occupying run-plugger in a 3-4. He will battle Rodrique Wright and Matt Roth to start at right end. Roth is the incumbent there and likely the favorite.
  • NYJ Defensive Lineman
Jets signed DE Rodrique Wright, formerly of the Dolphins.
Wright was out of football in 2009 after failing to make the Dolphins’ roster. At 6'5/300, Wright has enough size to play defensive end in the Jets’ 3-4, but the once highly regarded Texas Longhorn has never met expectations.
  • NYJ Defensive Lineman
Dolphins seventh-round DT Rodrique Wright will likely be placed on the PUP list.
We all found out why Wright, a stud at Texas, fell so far in the draft; he had a torn rotator cuff. He had surgery in May and could miss the season.
  • NYJ Defensive Lineman
Dolphins signed seventh-round DT Rodrique Wright to a four-year contract.
Wright should be a contributor in time, but it won’t be in 2006. He’s on PUP and expected to miss his rookie season with a torn rotator cuff.
  • NYJ Defensive Lineman
Dolphins placed DT Rodrique Wright on the reserve/Non Football Injury list.
The former Texas Longhorn will miss the season with a torn rotator cuff. Miami also placed WR Eric Kimble on Reserve/PUP.
  • NYJ Defensive Lineman
Miami placed DL Rodrique Wright on reserve/PUP, ending his season.
Wright (torn rotator cuff) played end in his brief return to practice the last two weeks. With Fred Evans, Kevin Vickerson, and maybe Manny Wright around behind Keith Traylor and Vonnie Holliday, Rodrique may have a hard time making next year’s club if he doesn’t pick up the new position.
