Dolphins signed P Ryan Stonehouse, formerly of the Titans, to a one-year contract.
Stonehouse is familiar with new Dolphins special teams coach Craig Aukerman, whom he worked with in two of his three seasons in the league with the Titans. Stonehouse led the league in yards per punt in 2022 and 2023. He suffered a season-ending knee injury in 2023 but returned to play all 17 games last season. However, it’s worth noting that he experienced career lows in yards per punt (50.6) and net yards per punt (38.3) and landed only 30.1 percent of his punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard line—also a career low. With last year’s punter, Jake Bailey, still on the roster, it’s possible Stonehouse is being brought in as camp competition for the upcoming season.

Titans HC Mike Vrabel said P Ryan Stonehouse will have season-ending knee surgery.
Stonehouse was taken out on a punt block in Sunday’s loss to the Colts and appeared to have suffered a bad knee injury. Those suspicions were confirmed by Vrabel on Monday, as Stonehouse will now head to injured reserve following surgery and begin rehabbing for the 2024 season. One of the better punters in the league, Stonehouse leads the league in yards per punt and has placed 52.8 percent of his attempts inside the opponent’s 20-yard line. The Titans will likely hold tryouts for a new punter in the coming days.

Titans P Ryan Stonehouse (knee) will not return in Week 13 against the Colts.
A Colts defender collided with Stonehouse’s lower body while successfully blocking a punt. It was the second blocked punt of the day for Indy. Their first blocked punt was returned for a touchdown. The injury may force the Titans to go for it on fourth down for the remainder of the game.

    Titans released P Brett Kern.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Titans are going with rookie P Ryan Stonehouse, who drew praise from Titans coaches and beat writers during training camp. Kern, the team’s punter since 2009, will likely find his way onto another roster soon rather than later.
