Philadelphia’s defensive line depth is quite impressive to be able to bench a player of Walker’s caliber.

He practiced only three days after suffering a concussion in a car accident.

Rayburn earned a $1.3 million signing bonus. The deal could be worth up to $10 million. The Eagles, who have to be the model salary cap franchise in the NFL with New England, have now signed four players to extensions over the last two weeks. Rayburn could take over for Darwin Walker in the starting lineup eventually.

The former rookie free agent signed a long-term contract extension last week before recording two sacks versus Pittsburgh.

He’s questionable with a head injury. He’s been one of the bright spots in an underachieving Eagles interior line.

He’ll undergo an MRI Monday. The Eagles have a bye.

Thompson’s career has downhill in a hurry. Rayburn adds depth at end and on the nose with Vonnie Holliday and Rodrique Wright both a bit banged up.

Rayburn, 26, would be used as both a nose and end in San Francisco after playing exclusively tackle as an Eagle. Mike Nolan acknowledged Rayburn has three other teams showing interest; likely the Giants, Texans, and Bills.
