Sammy Davis will be removed from the Chargers starting lineup at cornerback.
Jamar Fletcher and Drayton Florence are candidates to replace Davis as the starter opposite Quentin Jammer.
  • TB Defensive Back
Sammy Davis and Jamar Fletcher will continue to split time at cornerback for the Chargers.
Fletcher will start, but they play an even number of stats. They aren’t fantasy options.
  • TB Defensive Back
Chargers starting cornerback Sammy Davis is likely out the rest of the season with a hairline fracture in his leg.
Drayton Florence played well in his place.
  • TB Defensive Back
Seahawks declared CB Sammy Davis, QB Cleo Lemon, QB Phillip Rivers (3rd QB), RB Michael Turner, FB Andrew Pinnock, C David Brandt, WR Bobby Shaw & DE Robert Pollard inactive for today’s game.
Keenan McCardell and Tim Dwight are active for today’s game, as expected.
  • TB Defensive Back
Chargers cornerback Sammy Davis is expected to return from a fracture in his right leg in week 17.
The former starter will come off the bench. It was a fast recovery for Davis, who San Diego feared was out for the season.
  • TB Defensive Back
Chargers cornerbac Sammy Davis was carted of the field with a lower leg injury.
The Chargers secondary is very thin. Look for the Eagles to take advantage.

    Bucs signed CB Sammy Davis
Davis was with the Bucs through the preseason and was released on September 2. The former Chargers first-round pick will add key depth as starting cornerback Brian Kelly injured his groin during the Week 1 loss to the Seahawks.
  • TB Tight End
Bucs TE Jerramy Stevens, C John Wade, and CB Sammy Davis are all expected to hit the free agent market on February 29.
Tampa is looking to upgrade from Stevens by pursuing Alge Crumpler. Dan Buenning could step in at center for Wade. Davis may fall out of the league.

Bucs placed CB Torrie Cox on injured reserve with a torn ACL, ending his season.
Cox is a borderline NFL player when it comes to non-special teams ability, but had been acting as the Bucs’ third corner with Brian Kelly continuing to nurse a groin injury. That job will now fall to the burnable Sammy Davis.

Bucs placed CB Sammy Davis (hip) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Davis hadn’t shown much during camp, but apparently the Bucs wanted to hold onto him. It’s hard to imagine him suddenly having much impact in 2009.
