Jets acquired TE Sean Ryan from Dallas for a seventh-round pick.
This should punch Doug Jolley’s ticket out of town. Ryan is primarily a blocking specialist who was taken in the fifth-round out of BC in 2005.
  • TEN Tight End
Cowboys waived tight end Sean Ryan.
The fifth-round pick wasn’t needed behind Jason Witten and Dan Campbell. He’s a candidate for the practice squad if he gets through waivers.
  • TEN Tight End
Cowboys reserve TE Sean Ryan will miss the rest of training camp with a foot injury.
With Dan Campbell and Ryan down, the Cowboys are thin at tight end. ''I told Witten, ‘You gotta play now. You’re the only one we got,’'' coach Parcells said.

Chris Baker (back) was limited again at Jets practice Thursday.
It’s beginning to look as though Baker won’t play against the Bills on Sunday, and Sean Ryan will get a start. Ryan isn’t a fantasy option.
  • TEN Tight End
Sean Ryan caught three passes for 46 yards in Week 7.
Ryan was in for the injured Chris Baker and had his first reception of the year. If Baker is out next week and you have a bye issue, Ryan could be worth a shot against the Bills.
  • TEN Tight End
Chiefs signed TE Sean Ryan, formerly of the 49ers.
Ryan, 29, is a “Bill Parcells guy” and new Chiefs GM Scott Pioli is Parcells’ son-in-law. Ryan will compete to make the club as a blocking tight end.
  • TEN Tight End
According to beat writer Adam Teicher, Sean Ryan has locked up the Chiefs’ starting tight end job.
Ryan, 29, is merely a blocking tight end. That’s probably a good thing for the Chiefs because their offensive line is going to need all the help they can get. Ryan is a non-factor in all fantasy leagues.
  • TEN Tight End
Sean Ryan had five catches for 58 yards and a touchdown in Sunday’s loss to the Giants.
Ryan also had four catches last week, but don’t get too excited. His production in both games has come in garbage time. Leave him on the waiver wire.
  • TEN Tight End
TE Sean Ryan leads the Chiefs in catches, with 11 through the first four games.
The journeyman caught 12 passes in his previous five NFL seasons, and this just looks terrible on Kansas City’s receivers’ end that they’re being outproduced by Sean Ryan. He’s not a real option in fantasy, as most of his production has come late in games when the Chiefs have all but lost.
