    Vikings waived DL Ross Blacklock
Blacklock saw his contract restructured by the Vikings earlier this offseason but will be left off the team’s 53-man roster. The veteran defensive tackle has appeared in 40 games through his first three years in the league and played in 11 games for the Vikings last season. The former second-rounder could catch on with another team as added depth now that he’s available. In addition to cutting Blacklock, the Vikings also waived DL Sheldon Day.
  • WAS Defensive Tackle #64
    Browns released DT Sheldon Day.
Day spent last season with the Browns, playing seven games. He has been sitting out camp because of a back injury. Cleveland also waived OT Elijah Nkansah.

  • WAS Defensive Tackle #64
    Browns re-signed DT Sheldon Day.
The Browns also announced the singings of Stephen Weatherly, Ja’Marcus Bradley, and Michael Dunn. Day bounced between the Browns’ practice squad and active roster throughout the year in 2021. He ultimately appeared in seven games, totaling 21 tackles, one sack, and one QB hit. If he makes Cleveland’s final roster this year, he will continue to play a rotational role on the defensive line.

  • FA Quarterback #17
    Browns waived QB Kyle Lauletta.
A fourth-round pick in 2018, Lauletta was let go by the Browns earlier today. In addition, the Browns waived/released WR KhaDarel Hodge, DL Sheldon Day, RB Johnny Stanton, LB Elijah Lee, DL Joe Jackson, DL Cameron Malveaux, DL Curtis Weaver, S Jovante Moffatt, DB Elijah Benton, WR Ja’Marcus Bradley, TE Jordan Franks, TE Kyle Markway, G Colby Gossett, LB Willie Harvey, LB Tegray Scales, RB John Kelly, C Javon Patterson, CB Emmanuel Rugamba, and DT Marvin Wilson.

  • WAS Defensive Tackle #64
    Browns released DT Sheldon Day.
Day reportedly rotated with Cleveland’s first-team defense during training camp, making his release something of a surprise. Now 27, Day is two years removed from a standout season with the 49ers. Other teams are certain to bring in Day for a workout in September.

  • WAS Defensive Tackle #64
    Browns signed DT Sheldon Day.
Day, 27 in July, inked a one-year deal with the Colts last offseason following a successful 2019 for the NFC champion 49ers. But Day appeared in four games due to injuries and was cut in November. He ended the year on the Browns’ practice squad. Day will compete for a depth job.

  • Linebacker #37
Colts activated DL Kemoko Turay (ankle) from the reserve/PUP list.
DT Sheldon Day was waived in a corresponding roster move. The No. 52 overall pick of the 2018 draft, Turay has not played since Oct. 6, 2019. That is one serious ankle injury, especially since the Colts talked in the offseason like he might be ready for Week 1. He missed nine games instead. Turay did have the looks of a disruptor before going down last season. He will be eased back in but the Colts will be open to the possibility of him claiming more snaps along their crowded defensive line.

  • WAS Defensive Tackle #64
Colts placed DT Sheldon Day on injured reserve with a knee injury.
Day will spend at least three weeks on the I.R. list. Signed to a one-year deal in the offseason, Day is expected to be a part of the defensive tackle rotation in Indy after starting in the Super Bowl for the 49ers.

  • WAS Defensive Tackle #64
Colts signed DT Sheldon Day, formerly of the 49ers, to a one-year contract.
He’ll reunite with former teammate DeForest Buckner, both who opened Super Bowl LIV as the Niners’ starting defensive tackles. Day actually started the last five games for San Francisco last season, totaling six tackles (including three in the team’s postseason run) with the extended opportunity. He’ll be leveraged as a rotational run-stuffing presence.

  • WAS Defensive Tackle #64
Jaguars.com gushes that fourth-round DT Sheldon Day has “impressed daily” in camp.
“Again, he’s another guy who has a high motor,” coach Gus Bradley said. “He has good pass rush. He has the ability to play the run. He has faced a lot of double teams and he’s holding up well against that, but the play after play after play – his motor I think jumps out.” In-house writer John Oehser believes Day will make himself part of the rotation on the Jags’ on-paper deep defensive line.
