Bills declared WR Joshua Palmer, OT Spencer Brown. OT Chase Lundt, DE Joey Bosa, DT Phidarian Mathis, LB Terrel Bernard, and S Darnell Savage inactive for Week 14 vs Bengals.
The Bills’ offensive line held up well last weekend, even with Brown and left tackle Dion Dawkins (concussion) out. Dawkins is back for this one, but the Bills will still be down their starting right tackle in a snow game, where they could rely on James Cook and the rushing attack a lot. Joey Bosa continues to be week-to-week, but his loss is a big one for this pass rush, and Shaq Thompson will start again with Terrel Bernard out.
  • BUF Tackle #79
Bills RT Spencer Brown (shoulder) is questionable for Buffalo’s Week 14 game against the Bengals.
Brown was limited in practice all three days this week. Buffalo has tended to be fairly conservative with Brown compared to how some teams treat their tackles — being limited is not a guarantee that Brown will play. Still, we’d bet on him being on the optimistic side of questionable after showing up at practice three days this week.
  • BUF Tackle #73
Dion Dawkins (concussion) was limited in Thursday’s practice.
He did, however, shed his non-contact jersey, so he may be closer to clearing concussion protocol. Dawkins and Spencer Brown (shoulder, limited for the second day in a row) are both trending towards playing on Sunday, or at least hitting the questionable line on Friday. It would do wonders for Buffalo’s offense to have their bookend tackles back on Sunday against the Bengals.
  • BUF Tackle #73
Bills LT Dion Dawkins (concussion) was limited on Wednesday.
Bills RT Spencer Brown (shoulder) also upgraded to limited. Both players were sidelined for the entirety of Week 13. The Bills face the Bengals’ pushover pass-rush unit in Week 14. Although the offense can likely get by without their starting offensive tackles, having them on the field would give Buffalo a significant edge in the trenches. Bills LB Terrel Bernard (elbow) remains sidelined.
  • BUF Tackle #73
Bills LT Dion Dawkins (concussion) will not play in Week 13 against the Steelers.
Head coach Sean McDermott also ruled out RT Spencer Brown (shoulder), LB Terrel Bernard (elbow), and WR Curtis Samuel (elbow/knee), for Sunday’s contest. With both bookend tackles sidelined, the Bills will likely roll with Ryan Van Demark at left tackle and Chase Lundt at right tackle, which could make life tough for Josh Allen against a defense that has the fourth-highest blitz rate and fifth-highest sack total (34) this season.
  • BUF Tackle #79
Bills coach Sean McDermott said RT Spencer Brown (shoulder) could go on injured reserve.
Brown left Week 12’s loss to the Texans twice and came back with a sling towards the end of the fourth quarter. While doctors are still evaluating him, it doesn’t sound like good news. Ryan Van Demark came on for Brown towards the end of the game and would likely be his replacement going forward.
  • BUF Linebacker #58
Bills LB Matt Milano (pectoral) is questionable for Buffalo’s Week 5 game against the Patriots.
Ditto DL Ed Oliver (ankle) and OL Spencer Brown (calf) — all three of these players got in limited practices on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday ahead of Sunday night football. We’d tentatively expect them all to play given the fact there were no setbacks. Milano and Oliver have not played since Week 2, while Brown missed Week 4 despite practicing on Friday ahead of the game.
  • BUF Tackle #79
Bills declared OT Spencer Brown, DE Landon Jackson, DT Ed Oliver, LB Matt Milano. CB Ja’Marcus Ingram, and KR/PR Brandon Codrington inactive for Week 4 against the Saints.
We knew that the bills would be without Matt Milano and Ed Oliver, who are still nursing injuries, but now it appears they will be without their starting right tackle as well. Expect Ryan Van Denmark to start in Brown’s place, and that’s a spot to watch as the Bills have given up the least amount of pressure on their own quarterback so far this season. With Codrington also inactive, the Bills will have a new return man for the first time this season.
  • BUF Tight End #88
Bills placed TE Dawson Knox on the active/NFI list.
No word on what Knox’s injury is or if he stands to miss any real time. It would certainly be a boon to Dalton Kincaid’s fantasy prospects if Knox were sidelined with something serious. Buffalo also placed Spencer Brown and Sedrick Van Pran-Granger on the active/PUP list.
  • BUF Tackle #79
Bills signed RT Spencer Brown to a four-year contract extension.
The Bills drafted Brown in the third round of the 2021 draft. He quickly took over the starting role and has been locked in as the team’s right tackle ever since, starting all 31 of the games he has been active for over the past two years. Pro Football Focus graded him as a top-40 tackle in 2023 and ESPN charted him with a top-20 pass-block win rate. The deal will keep Brown in Buffalo through the 2028 season.
