    Lions waived WR Steve Sanders.
They’re going with Derrick Williams and Eric Fowler instead.
  • ARI Wide Receiver
Cardinals signed WR Steve Sanders, formerly of the Lions.
Sanders, 26, was one of Omar Jacobs’ favorite targets at Bowling Green, but won’t make the Cardinals over Jerheme Urban, Sean Morey, or Early Doucet.
  • ARI Wide Receiver
Browns signed OL Nathan Bennett, LB Titus Brown, RB Omar Cuff, OL Christian Gaddis, S Travis Key, WR Lance Leggett, WR Steve Sanders and DL Melila Purcell to the practice squad.
No big names here, nor should there be.
  • FA Wide Receiver #14
Donte’ Stallworth (quadriceps) “is likely out again” for Sunday night’s game, according to the Browns’ team website.
You won’t get a stronger indication than from team sites, which normally ride the fence on injury situations or are overly optimistic. Syndric Steptoe, Steve Sanders, and possibly Josh Cribbs will likely share snaps opposite Braylon Edwards against the Steelers. Kellen Winslow could see more targets.
  • DAL Wide Receiver
The Canton Repository believes Travis Wilson will be the Browns No. 3 wide receiver.
Wilson will be behind Braylon Edwards, Donte Stallworth, and Joshua Cribbs, but Cribbs doesn’t play in three-receiver packages. Steve Sanders and Syndric Steptoe are also possibilities, but Steptoe’s recent shoulder injury could keep him out of the race.
  • ARI Wide Receiver
    Browns signed WR Steve Sanders.
Sanders has finally recovered from a broken foot he suffered in the team’s offseason program. He spent 2006 and 2007 on the Browns’ practice squad and will struggle to get meaningful snaps this year as well.
  • DAL Wide Receiver
Browns WR Travis Wilson will start in place of injured Braylon Edwards Monday night.
After impressing coach Romeo Crennel with his camp work and OTAs, Wilson is considered the favorite over Steve Sanders for the No. 3 receiver job heading into the season. The next three preseason games could be make or break for Wilson’s career.
  • CLE Tight End
Browns released TEs Brad Cieslak and Kolomana Kapanui, WRs Lance Leggett and Steve Sanders, CBs A.J. Davis and Jereme Perry, S Travis Key and Brandon Mitchell, LBs Chase Ortiz and David McMillan, OT James Lee, and K Jason Reda.
Formerly of the Bills, Cieslak will try to catch on as a third tight end elsewhere.
  • DAL Wide Receiver
Browns GM Phil Savage says Travis Wilson, Syndric Steptoe, and Steve Sanders will battle for the fifth receiver spot.
Wilson, the self-proclaimed best receiver in the ’06 draft, has been a colossal disappointment with the Browns.
  • ARI Wide Receiver
Browns WR Steve Sanders broke a bone in his foot during the team’s offseason program.
He’ll could be waived/injured shortly. With Joe Jurevicius (knee, staph infection) also out, Travis Wilson will pick up reps at upcoming OTAs.
