“Pepper” was dropped by Dallas when they signed J’Vonne Parker.
  • HOU Linebacker
Jets signed S Darnell Bing, OL Stanley Daniels and DT Thomas Johnson to futures contracts.
Bing, a fourth-round pick in 2006 has spent one season on injured reserve in Oakland, and one on the 49ers’ practice squad. Daniels was briefly with the Jets after going undrafted in April. Johnson has played in 13 NFL games in two seasons, but not since being being waived by the Texans prior to this year.

Falcons first-round pick Peria Jerry is done for the season with a knee injury.
Jerry, who earned a starting job out of training camp, will likely be replaced in the lineup by a rotation of Thomas Johnson and Trey Lewis, who have far less pass-rush ability. Jerry’s loss also won’t help an Atlanta run defense that is already serving up 5.1 yards per carry (sixth worst in the league).

Falcons DT Thomas Johnson will start in place of Peria Jerry, coach Mike Smith said.
Jerry is out for the season with a knee injury. Expect the Falcons to use a heavy rotation on the interior of their defensive line.
  • NYJ Linebacker
Jets released LB Matt Chatham, CB Hank Poteat, TE A.J. Schable, DL Thomas Johnson, and RB/FB Jehuu Caulcrick.
Caulcrick could land on the practice squad. Chatham was a special teamer. It’s a good sign for the Jets that they no longer have to rely on marginal former Patriots who know the system.

His status will be day-to-day this week. Johnson was subbing for injured second-year DT Travis Johnson, who has been placed on injured reserve.

Texans defensive tackle Thomas Johnson (hamstring) is expected to miss “a couple of weeks” according to head coach Gary Kubiak.
Houston has gone through down linemen like disposable diapers. Johnson, a former street free agent, will be replaced by former street free agent Cedric Killings. Continue to use running backs against the Texans.
