Seahawks LB Uchenna Nwosu (ankle) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 13 against the Vikings.
Nwosu is good to go, which is bad news for Vikings QB Max Brosmer. He accounts for 37 quarterback pressures and ties for a team-high eight sacks, boasting a 14.1 percent pass-rush win rate. Seahawks S Ty Okada (oblique) is questionable to play.

Seahawks LB Uchenna Nwosu (ankle) did not participate in Wednesday’s practice.
Nwosu pops up with a new ankle issue that keeps him out of Wednesday’s practice. Also not practicing was S Ty Okada (oblique), who suffered the injury in Week 12. Both defensive players will need to log some practice time later in the week to have a shot at playing in Week 13.

Seahawks LB Uchenna Nwosu (knee) is not on Seattle’s final injury report for Week 3.
Nwosu began training camp on the PUP list and practiced in full twice this week ahead of Friday, so he’ll make his 2025 debut in Week 2. He’ll likely be in Seattle’s defensive line rotation to start, and given time to reacclimate before returning to his starter role.
  • SEA Linebacker #7
Seahawks LB Uchenna Nwosu was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice.
Nwosu’s full participation is great news for the Seahawks’ pass rush. The 28-year-old opened training camp on the PUP list after undergoing a cleanup procedure on his knee in the offseason. He was limited all of last week in practice and missed Week 1 against the 49ers. Nwosu now starts Week 2 with a full participation and is headed towards making his 2025 debut against the Steelers.
  • SEA Wide Receiver #19
Seahawks WR Jake Bobo (concussion) is inactive for Week 1 against the 49ers.
Bobo was unable to graduate past limited participation this week, as he works his way through the NFL’s concussion protocol. Backup WR Dareke Young (hamstring) is also inactive, which gives rookie WR Tory Horton an opportunity to hog No. 3 WR duties. Seahawks LB Uchenna Nwosu (knee) likewise remained limited all week, which hurts the Seahawks’ pass rush. The Seahawks also declared LB Jared Ivey, LB Connor O’Toole, OL Mason Richman and TE Nick Kallerup inactive for Week 1 against the 49ers.
  • SEA Wide Receiver #19
Seahawks rule out WR Jake Bobo (concussion) for Week 1 against the 49ers.
Both Bobo and LB Uchenna Nwosu (knee) kicked the week off with promising limited practice participation statuses, but they were ultimately unable to get cleared for action. With Bobo out, rookie speedster WR Tory Horton (ankle) should operate as the clear-cut No. 3 wide receiver. Backup WR Dareke Young (hamstring) is also out.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Seahawks LB Uchenna Nwosu (knee) passed his physical and is cleared to return to practice.
Nwosu opened training camp on the PUP list after undergoing a cleanup procedure on his knee earlier in the offseason. The eighth-year pro totaled 14 tackles and one sack in six games for the Seahawks last season and has been limited to just 12 games since 2023. With roughly three weeks to go until the start of the season, there’s a chance Nwosu will be active for Week 1 against the 49ers if he looks good in practice.

Seahawks placed LB Uchenna Nwosu (knee) on the active/physically unable to perform list.
This transaction was always expected. Nwosu underwent a cleanup procedure on his knee this offseason. The real question is whether he can recover in time for the regular season. Nwosu is a capable player — he had 14.5 sacks in his last two healthy seasons — but has only played in 12 games since the start of 2023. He needs a bounceback year in 2025 to remain on the NFL radar as more than a 53-man hopeful.

Seahawks GM John Schneider said it is “way too early to tell” if LB Uchenna Nwosu will be placed on the physically unable to perform list to begin the season after undergoing offseason surgery.
Shortly after Nwosu agreed to restructure his contract, Schneider revealed that the 28-year-old pass rusher underwent surgery for a knee issue. Perhaps the Seahawks’ willingness to keep Nwosu on the roster is a net positive regarding his expected recovery. Nwosu missed the first four 2024 games due to an August MCL sprain. He returned for Week 5 but was forced from play after suffering a thigh injury. He was then sidelined again until Week 14, and was later listed with a wrist injury in Week 17. Hopefully, Nwosu will be healthy in time for Week 1.

Seahawks restructured LB Uchenna Nwosu’s contract.
Nwosu was primed to be a cut candidate this offseason. The 28-year-old pass rusher signed a three-year contract extension ahead of the 2023 season and has totaled just 30 tackles and three sacks over 12 games since signing that deal. A myriad of injuries can be partially blamed for the poor production, but the Seahawks stood to save $14.6 million against the cap by releasing Nwosu as a post-June 1 designation. Instead, Nwosu agreed to a deal that resulted in a $7 million pay cut while also freeing up $9 million in cap space. He remains under contract through the 2026 season, but 2025 is shaping up to be a make-or-break year for Nwosu, who carries a cap hit just north of $20 million if he’s on the roster in 2026.
