The Chiefs promoted WR Verran Tucker from the practice squad, and cut WR Jeremy Horne.
Neither Horne nor Tucker have any fantasy value whatsoever as Kansas City’s fifth wideout.
  • KC Wide Receiver
Undrafted rookie WR Verran Tucker started for the Chiefs opposite Dwayne Bowe in Week 11.
Tucker had one reception for 13 yards. It’s more an indictment of Chris Chambers than anything else. Tucker is primarily a gunner on special teams.
  • FA Running Back
According to Nick Wright of 610 Sports in Kansas City, Dexter McCluster (ankle) not only will play Sunday but will also start at split end against the Broncos.
Wright was the first to nail down McCluster’s high ankle sprain five weeks ago, so he appears to have a go-to source close to the rookie. McCluster practiced fully all week and has been taken off the injury report. Verran Tucker has averaged just one catch per game as the split end while McCluster was sidelined. It’s an upgrade for Matt Cassel. McCluster shouldn’t be trusted even in PPR leagues in his first week back.
  • DAL Defensive Lineman
Cowboys signed OLB Jay Moore and waived WR Verran Tucker.
Tucker showed little during OTAs. Though Moore projects as a pass-rushing outside linebacker in Dallas’ 3-4, he’s probably just a practice body for camp.
  • NYJ Defensive Back
Chiefs released S DeJuan Morgan, QB Tyler Palko, OG Colin Brown, LB David Herron, LB Pierre Walters, and WR Verran Tucker.
Mostly a special teamer, the 82nd overall pick in the 2008 draft did end up making a few spot starts in the Chiefs’ woebegone secondary last season. Palko has spent time with the Saints, Steelers, and Cardinals since going undrafted in 2007.
  • KC Wide Receiver
Chiefs signed WR Verran Tucker and waived WR David Grimes.
An undrafted free agent, Tucker caught just 29 passes for 453 yards at Cal last season. Grimes played for Chiefs offensive coordinator Charlie Weis at Notre Dame, so his release bodes poorly for an NFL future.
