Will Anderson (chest/shoulder) is not on Houston’s final Week 14 injury report.
He practiced in full on Friday and should be fine. In IDP leagues, it would be a disappointment if Anderson did not provide at least a half-sack or so against a Chiefs offensive line that looks likely to be down several starter.
  • HOU Defensive End #51
Texans EDGE Will Anderson (chest) returned to practice Thursday.
DeMeco Ryans said yesterday that Anderson would be fine. He’s been receiving some sporadic rest under the chest tag over the past couple of weeks. He’ll likely be cleared off the injury report on Friday.
  • HOU Defensive End #51
Will Anderson (shoulder/chest) did not practice Wednesday.
Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans told reporters earlier today that Anderson will be fine. The DNP is likely just a rest day for the cornerstone of the Texans’ defense. Anderson has 10.5 sacks and three forced fumbles this year. He should return to practice later this week. We fully expect to see him on the field, giving Patrick Mahomes trouble on Sunday.
  • HOU Defensive End #51
Texans EDGE Will Anderson (quad) is not on Houston’s final Week 10 injury report.
He will be around to harass Trevor Lawrence on Sunday. Jalen Pitre (concussion) was ruled out, giving some extra space for Parker Washington to move around in the slot against Houston’s backup cornerbacks.
  • HOU Defensive End #51
Texans EDGE Will Anderson (quad) was limited in Thursday’s practice.
It’s an upgrade for Anderson after Wednesday’s DNP, it seems like there’s a real chance he’ll be one of the few Texans on the injury report to actually play in this week’s game against Jacksonville. Jalen Pitre (concussion) DNPed for a second day in a row, while Denico Autry (knee) also upgraded to limited.
  • HOU Defensive End #51
Texans EDGE Will Anderson (quad) did not practice Wednesday.
Anderson is the most notable of several Houston defenders who were held out of Wednesday’s practice. The third-year EDGE has six sacks this season and scored his first career touchdown on a fumble recovery in Week 7. Losing him would be a devastating blow to a Houston team that has already ruled out C.J. Stroud with a concussion.
  • HOU Defensive End #51
Texans declared EDGE Will Anderson Jr. DL Denico Autry, OL Nick Broeker, LB Christian Harris, DT Foley Fatukasi, RG Shaq Mason, and CB Jeff Okudah inactive for Houston’s Week 18 game against the Titans.
Anderson carried no game status after being cleared off the injury report with a hand, so this is a bit of a surprise inactive. (It shouldn’t be, the Texans have nothing to play for, but he’s the only major Texans player that is inactive.) Mason, Okudah, Autry, and Fatukasi were declared out on Friday. Christian Harris (ankle) does not play off a questionable tag.
  • HOU Defensive End #51
Texans EDGE Will Anderson (ankle) said he will play in Week 12 against the Titans.
Anderson missed two games with the ankle issue but returned to practice on Wednesday. He is good to go for Week 12. Anderson has 7.5 sacks and 11 TFLs this year despite the pair of missed games. His return makes Houston an even worse matchup for Will Levis this week.
  • HOU Defensive End #51
Texans EDGE Will Anderson (ankle)was limited in Wednesday’s practice.
Anderson has been out since Week 9 with the ankle issue. This was his first practice since suffering the injury, giving him a good shot to suit up on Sunday. Anderson is the biggest play-maker on the defensive side of the ball for Houston. He has 7.5 sacks and 11 TFLs this year.
  • HOU Defensive End #51
Texans declared DE Will Anderson, DT Folorunso Fatukasi, OT Blake Fisher, LB Jamal Hill, CB Kamari Lassiter, and WR Steven Sims inactive for Week 11 against the Cowboys.
Anderson had already been ruled out but his presence along the defensive front will be missed against the Cowboys. Wide receiver Nico Collins makes his return to the lineup following a five-game absence and finds himself in an outstanding spot against the porous Dallas secondary.
