Bengals selected Florida DL Zachary Carter with the No. 95 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Carter (6’4/282) put together a solid four-year career at Florida that was capped with 20.5 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks in his final two seasons. When his motor is running, Carter looks like an unstoppable force. Whether he’s overpowering a guard or working the EDGE against a tackle, he’s a player who can line up at a variety of spots to contribute. He shows a good burst off the line and has ferocious hands at the point of attack. At 282 pounds, Carter likely doesn’t have the size to be a regular one or two-gapper, but his versatility allows him to be used situationally. Similar to former Ravens LB/EDGE Jarret Johnson, Carter profiles as a guy who could eventually find himself matching up strictly on the outside getting after the quarterback.
