FAU HC Lane Kiffin believes freshman S Zyon Gilbert is an NFL-caliber talent.
“Really, this is a guy that we’re used to seeing at SEC-type places.This guy has obviously never played a (college) game, but as you look at him as a prospect – height, weight, speed, play-making ability – this is an NFL-type guy,” Kiffin said. Gilbert (6'1/180) has beaten out redshirt junior Andrew Soroh for starting honors during preseason camp. Rivals ranked him as a two-star recruit coming out of high school, but it sounds very much like he has the potential to outplay that grade. FAU kicks off their 2017 season in a showdown with Navy this coming Friday.
