It appears the Anaheim Ducks will be without forward Corey Perry when they close out a two-game road trip Sunday against the Winnipeg Jets.
Perry suffered a knee injury in Friday’s game against the Minnesota Wild but will be further evaluated when the team returns back to Anaheim, the club stated via Twitter on Saturday.
Perry was on the receiving end of a devastating Keith Ballard hip check along the boards in the first period. He left the game and did not return, unable to put pressure on his left leg as he was helped off the ice.
“Actually, I saw it coming. I just had nowhere to go. He just got me in an awkward position and hit me low,” Perry told reporters.
Without Perry, the Ducks defeated the Wild in a back-and-forth contest, moving ahead of the Vancouver Canucks into sole possession of top spot in the Pacific Division.
The Ducks recalled center Rickard Rakell from the Norfolk in the American Hockey League.

Perry said he didn't think knee injury is too bad. Said he couldn't avoid hit. Has small brace on left knee
