Heath was acquired from the Royals in a trade last April and wound up appearing in 20 games for the Diamondbacks over the remainder of the season. The 28-year-old outfielder was hitting just .207/.207/.414 with two homers and one steal in 29 plate appearances in seven games at Triple-A Reno this season. He should be able to latch on somewhere else on a minor league pact as extra outfield depth.

Heath was designated for assignment by Arizona last week and passed through waivers unclaimed. The speedy 27-year-old outfielder is a career .146/.255/.188 hitter in 35 games (57 plate appearances) at the MLB level.

Heath is waived to make room on the 40-man roster for Kole Calhoun. The 27-year-old can run with the best of them, but has hit just .143/.231/.171 in 39 plate appearances with the Diamondbacks while going up-and-down from Triple-A Reno. It would not be a big surprise if someone claimed Heath, but he just doesn’t hit enough to justify as a potential fantasy helper.

The 27-year-old speedster hit just .143/.231/.171 with no homers, one RBI and a 15/4 K/BB ratio over 39 plate appearances with the big league club. He’ll continue to provide organizational outfield depth at Triple-A.

Heath will give the D-backs some extra outfield depth while Ketel Marte works through a hamstring issue. Heath, 27, is a career .159/.275/.205 hitter in 28 games (53 plate appearances) at the MLB level.

The 27-year-old was just 5-for-31 (.161) this season for Arizona, so he was an easy choice to option to the minors after Ketel Marte was activated from the injured list. HEath will return to being organizational depth in Reno.
