The right-hander had been designated for assignment earlier in the week. The 32-year-old hurler registered a disappointing 5.22 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 51/26 K/BB ratio over 50 innings in 55 appearances out of the Diamondbacks bullpen this season. He’s now free to latch on elsewhere.

Ramirez is removed from the roster to make room for Wilmer Difo. He was unsuccessful in his 55 games with Arizona this year as seen in a 5.22 ERA and 1.42 WHIP. Because he’s had previous success, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Ramirez was claimed in the coming days.

Ramirez signed a minor league contract with Arizona in May, shortly after being released by the Angels, and went on to deliver a 2.76 ERA with 29 strikeouts over 32 2/3 innings for the Snakes. He could be an option for saves in 2022.

After coming into a big mess in the ninth, Ramirez walked a batter and gave up a two-run single. He then got the one out he needed, fanning Brad Miller on three pitches to give the Diamondbacks an 8-7 win. Ramirez’s other save came with the Angels in 2018. He’s primarily working as a setup man in front of Tyler Clippard right now.

Ramirez will be back in the Arizona bullpen on Thursday afternoon against the Phillies after missing three weeks. He’s pitched quite well since joining the D-backs on a minor league deal earlier this summer.

Ramirez joins a host of teammates -- and two other members of the bullpen -- on the COVID-19 injured list on Friday. The right-hander has been an outstanding addition to the D’Backs bullpen this season, posting a 2.40 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and 15/4 K/BB ratio across 15 innings since joining the club.

The 31-year-old hurler was signed to a minor league contract in May after being cut loose by the Angels. He hasn’t pitched well in the minor leagues this season -- compiling a 6.97 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 14/5 K/BB ratio over 10 1/3 innings -- but he will provide a fresh arm to a fatigued Diamondbacks bullpen.

Ramirez was cut loose by the Angels earlier this week but has already found a new home and could soon get the call to Arizona given the current state of the Diamondbacks’ bullpen. The 31-year-old right-hander holds a career 4.20 ERA, 1.255 WHIP, and 230 strikeouts in 214 1/3 total innings at the major league level.

Ramirez was designated for assignment by the Angels earlier this week and passed through waivers unclaimed. The 31-year-old had allowed two runs on five hits and one walk in 3 1/3 innings with the Halos.

The move comes after the Angels acquired reliever Hunter Strickland from the Rays on Saturday. Ramirez allowed two runs over 3 1/3 innings this season on five hits and one walk. The right-hander did not post a strikeout.
