Abigail Johnston is onto the women’s 3m springboard final, while her Team USA teammate is merely a reserve.

Johnston tied for fith with a semifinal score of 324.75, while medal hopeful Kassidy Cook finished 13th.

That’s the first reserve spot for Sunday’s final, as she came within 3.9 points of the all-important Top 12.

Favorites Shi Tingmao and He Zi of China finished 1-2, and Shi’s 385 score blew away the field. That includes a relatively perfect 81 on her third of five dives.
