Dominique Gisin and Tina Maze tied for gold in the women’s downhill on Wednesday, marking the first time in Olympic history that two gold medals were handed out in the same Alpine skiing event.
There have been ties for other medals, but never gold. This edges the previous record for closest finish from 1998, when Picabo Street beat Michaela Dorfmeister by .1 in super-G.
