Team USA men’s rugby sevens player Nate Ebner is a bit better known as New England Patriots safety Nate Ebner.

The 27-year-old Ohio State product made history twice Tuesday when he appeared for the U.S. in a 17-14 loss to Argentina.

Not only was he on the field for the first USA Rugby match in Olympic history, but he became the first NFL player to appear in an Olympics (though Olympians have gone on to appear in the NFL).

Ebner was supported by Patriots coach Bill Belichick in training camp on Tuesday.
