Sage Kotsenburg’s tweet sums up historic Olympic gold

20-year-old American Sage Kotsenburg made history earlier this morning by winning the first Olympic gold medal in snowboard slopestyle.

Shortly after taking the top step of the podium alongside silver medalist Staale Sandbech of Norway and bronze medalist Mark McMorris of Canada, Kotsenburg expressed his joy over the result with an exuberant tweet:

Kotsenburg has also received Twitter props from some of his peers for claiming the gold. Here’s three of his fellow American snowboarders - Chas Guldemond, Nick Baumgartner and Justin Reiter - hailing the new champion.
