The U.S. hopes to earn its fourth medal at the World Hockey Championship since 1962, against host Czech Republic in the bronze-medal game in Prague, live on NBC Sports Live Extra at 10 a.m. ET.
The Americans lost their semifinal to Russia 4-0 on Saturday, ending their hope of a first World title since 1960. Likewise, the Czechs were eliminated by Canada earlier Saturday.
The U.S. did well to make it this far, given its roster includes one Olympian (defenseman Justin Faulk) and an average age of 24.3 years old.
The Czechs are guided by 43-year-old Jaromir Jagr, a star on their 1998 Olympic champion team, and are looking for their fourth World medal in the last six years.
