U.S. Olympic team surpasses 200 athletes as 21 rowers added

The U.S. Olympic team surpassed 200 athletes on Monday with the naming of 21 rowers to the Rio roster.

The entire U.S. Olympic roster of qualifiers is here, updated as athletes earn Rio berths.

The U.S. Olympic team will eventually include more than 500 athletes after all is said and done in qualifying, with roster announcements and at various Olympic Trials.

The U.S. women’s eight crew highlighted Monday’s rowing announcement, led by coxswain Katelin Snyder and two members of the 2012 Olympic champion crew -- Eleanor Logan and Meghan Musnicki.

They’re joined by Amanda Elmore, Tessa Gobbo, Emily Regan, Lauren Schmetterling, Amanda Polk and Kerry Simmonds.
