The United States women’s rugby sevens squad is onto the medal playoff as the top third place team in pool play.

Now they’ll have a quarterfinal match at 5:30 p.m. EDT to determine whether their run continues, or if they’ll drop into the fifth through eighth place playoff on Monday.

Placing matches start at 3 p.m. EDT, quarters at 4.

If the U.S. upsets New Zealand, it’ll face the winner of Great Britain and Fiji. The other side of the bracket will see Australia face Spain and Canada take on France.

USA needed to avoid being blown out by Australia, and did it one better by nearly beating them.

As a reward, it’ll be highly-touted New Zealand at 5:30. New Zealand won Pool B, throttling Kenya, and controlling play in big wins over Spain and France. They allowed just 12 points while scoring 109.

That said, the U.S. defense was tough, allowing the fifth-fewest points in beating Colombia, tying Australia, and falling to Fiji.
