Orlando Calixte has signed with the Chunichi Dragons of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball.
Calixte, who last appeared in the majors with the Giants back in 2017, tore the cover off the ball for Monterrey in the Mexican League last year. He hit .235/.301/.316 with two homers and 13 stolen bases across 220 plate appearances over 64 games for Triple-A Syracuse during the 2021 season in the Mets’ minor league system.

    Mets released INF Orlando Calixte.
Calixte signed a minor-league deal with the Mets back in May and hit .235/.301/.316 with two homers and 13 stolen bases across 220 plate appearances at Triple-A Syracuse. The 29-year-old infielder hasn’t appeared in the big leagues since 2017.

Mets signed INF/OF Orlando Calixte to a minor league contract.
The Mets’ minor league system has thinned out due to all of the injuries at the major league level, so Calixte bring some veteran depth. The 29-year-old hasn’t played in the majors since 2017 as a member of the Mariners and was previously signed to play for the independent York Revolution this season.

Orlando Calixte is the only Mariners’ position player that will be absent from the team’s first full-squad workout on Saturday.
The non-roster invitee remains in his native Dominican Republic waiting on his Visa. He’ll need to have a strong showing in Arizona in order to crack the Opening Day roster in a utility role.

Mariners signed INF/OF Orlando Calixte to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Calixte, 26, spent all of last year in Triple-A Fresno with the Giants’ organization and hit .270/.323/.405 with 11 homers and 14 steals in 15 attempts over 125 games. He’s capable of playing in the infield and outfield, so there’s a chance he could win a utility-job if he hits well in spring training. More than likely, he’ll be fodder in Triple-A Tacoma.

Giants signed INF/OF Orlando Calixte to a minor league contract.
Calixte hit .274/.324/.420 with 11 home runs and 19 stolen bases in 126 games this past season between Double-A Northwest Arkansas and Triple-A Omaha, minor league affiliates of the Royals. He’ll function as organizational depth for San Francisco.

Giants purchased the contract of INF/OF Orlando Calixte from Triple-A Sacramento.
Calixte was signed to a minor league contract earlier in the week, but the club added him to the 40-man roster to ensure that he wouldn’t be selected in the Rule 5 draft. Calixte slashed .274/.324/.420 with 11 homers and 19 RBI in 126 games between Double-A Northwest Arkansas and Triple-A Omaha in 2016.

Giants optioned INF/OF Orlando Calixte to Triple-A Sacramento.
Calixte was competing for a bench spot on the Giants’ Opening Day roster but hit just .192/.222/.231 with two RBI in 26 at-bats during Cactus League competition. He’ll function as organizational depth at Triple-A to begin the season.

Giants recalled OF/INF Orlando Calixte from Triple-A Sacramento.
Calixte is starting in left field and batting leadoff on Tuesday night against the Nationals. He was slashing .287/.331/.507 with eight home runs and 11 stolen bases in 41 games this season at the Triple-A level and could carry some fantasy value in deeper leagues.
  • MLB Shortstop #46
Orlando Calixte finished 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI and two strikeouts in Tuesday’s game against Washington.
It was Calixte’s first action in the majors since appearing in two games in 2015 with the Royals, and the hits and RBI were his first in the majors. He appeared in all three outfield spots in Tuesday’s game and will serve in a utility role during his time with the big club. Calixte is only worth a look in the deepest of NL-only fantasy play.
