Cowboys DT Robert Callaway recently underwent knee surgery.
Further details are unavailable, so it was likely just a scope. A third-year undrafted free agent, Callaway appeared in just two games last season, and will have to be 100 percent to have any shot at a roster spot.
  • FA Defensive Lineman
    Cowboys waived/injured DT Robert Callaway.
Callaway recently underwent microfracture knee surgery. If / when he clears waivers, he will revert to injured reserve. He appeared in two games as a reserve for Dallas in 2012.
  • FA Defensive Lineman
Cowboys waived DT Robert Callaway with an injury settlement.
After generating some buzz as a pass rusher in OTAs, Callaway underwent microfracture knee surgery, ending his season. It was thought the Cowboys would keep him on IR, but they’re obviously moving in a different direction.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Lions signed WRs Tim Toone and Michael Moore, RB Ian Johnson, TE Joe Jon Finley, DT Rob Callaway, and C Dan Gerberry to reserve/future contracts.
Toone, last year’s Mr. Irrelevant, spent most of the season on the Lions’ practice squad/injured reserve after breaking his right leg in practice. He should be fine for 2011 camp. Callaway is a big-bodied tackle at 6'5/312.
  • DET Defensive Back
Lions waived DB Jonathan Hefney, DT Rob Callaway, DT Landon Cohen, OG Noah Franklin, C Dan Gerberry, and OT Cliff Louis.
Hefney, CFL’s rookie of the year last season, ran with the first-team defense throughout OTAs. He lost out to Aaron Berry and newcomer Alphonso Smith. Cohen was a seventh-round pick last season.
  • FA Defensive Lineman
    Lions waived DT Robert Callaway.
An undrafted free agent out of Saginaw Valley State last year, Callaway spent time on the Lions’ practice squad. He’ll likely do so again this season after impressing in the preseason with a sack and forced fumble.
