Cowboys placed OL Matt Hennessy on injured reserve with a neck injury.

Hennessy’s season is over. The Cowboys also released CB Corey Ballentine and waived WR Romello Brinson. The Cowboys correspondingly agreed to terms with two UFL players, former Houston Gamblers CB Ameer Speed and former Columbus Aviators OL Chris Glaser. Glaser unsuccessfully competed for a Cowboys roster spot last summer before entering the UFL.

Miami sophomore WR Romello Brinson (undisclosed) is ready to return to practice.

Brinson (6'2/170) missed the beginning of spring practice due to an undisclosed injury, but the team has announced he is ready to return. As a freshman, he caught seven passes for 90 yards and looks to carve out a bigger in the newly revamped offense.

Miami received a verbal commitment from four-star 2021 WR Romello Brinson.

Brinson picked the Hurricanes over fellow finalists Texas A&M, and LSU, Alabama and Georgia. It’s the second time that the 6-foot-2, 170-pound wideout has committed to Miami, as he previously was a pledge from last February to November. He’s rated the 132nd player on the 247Sports composite board, and the 25th best player at the wideout position. Andrew Ivins of Miami Insider compares Brinson to Tre’Quan Smith, and believes he has the talent to someday be a Day 3 selection. A nice get for Manny Diaz and the Miami staff.

Uncommitted four-star 2021 WR Romello Brinson plans on announcing his pledge on June 13.

Brinson (6'2/170) has narrowed his field down to five programs, announcing last month that Texas A&M, LSU, Miami (a program which he was previously committed to), Alabama and Georgia would all be in the ring for the final call. If it weren’t for the coronavirus shutting down face-to-face recruiting in March, we may well have seen the four-star wideout commit earlier in the spring. Hailing from Miami, Brinson is a lanky receiver prospect who plays with impeccable body control. Once he adds a little more weight his ability to battle for contested catches should play up even more. On the 247Sports composite board, Brinson lands as the No. 132 overall prospect for the 2021 cycle.

Uncommitted four-star 2021 WR Romello Brinson released a top-five list consisting of Texas A&M, LSU, Miami, Alabama and Georgia.

Brinson (6'2/170) had been hoping to make his commitment in March, but is opting to hold off on a pledge until after football activities and face-to-face recruiting resume to some normal degree. A Miami native, Brinson was actually committed to the Hurricanes from last February into November before he opted to reassess his options. As a prospect, Brinson plays with real length on the field and excels in being able to maintain body control in tight coverage. He’ll need to add bulk for the collegiate ranks (something which goes for most prep recruits). On the 247Sports composite board, Brinson lands as the No. 134 overall prospect in the 2021 class.

Uncommitted four-star 2021 WR Romello Brinson is aiming to make his pledge in March.

Brinson (6'2/170) was committed to Miami from last February into November before backing off that pledge. The Hurricanes remain in his thoughts, though, with Texas A&M and LSU also doing nice legwork in this ongoing recruitment. Penn State and South Carolina are additional programs to watch, here. Rivals ranks Brinson, a Miami native, as the No. 164 overall prospect in the 2021 class.

The Miami, Florida native is staying local by committing to the Hurricanes. This is Miami’s second commitment in the 2021 recruiting class. Brinson was also considering Colorado State, Florida, Florida Atlantic, and Georgia.
