Free agent OT Sam Tevi visited the Cowboys Friday.
Tevi, 27, missed all of last season with a torn ACL but has started 44 games in his career and would make for a fine swing tackle in Dallas or even as a capable replacement for RT La’el Collins.

  • FA Tackle
Colts LT Sam Tevi suffered a torn ACL in the team’s third preseason game.
Tevi will go on IR and miss the entire 2021 season. A potential Week 1 starter with LT Eric Fisher (Achilles) sidelined, losing Tevi is a hit to an already thin offensive line. Julie’n Davenport is expected to open the year at left tackle until Fisher returns.

  • FA Tackle
Colts T Sam Tevi was carted off with a knee injury during Friday’s preseason game against the Lions.
The Colts are already thin on the offensive line – especially with Quenton Nelson and Eric Fisher on the COVID-19 list – so Tevi’s loss could prove critical if Indianapolis has other injuries up front during the season. The severity of his injury isn’t apparent, but it doesn’t bode well when a player is carted off.

Colts signed OT Sam Tevi, formerly of the Chargers.
Tevi started at left tackle for the Chargers last season and also has experience on the right side. Unfortunately, he’s been a liability at both spots but is still just 26 years. In Indianapolis, the Colts are looking to replace retired LT Anthony Castonzo. There’s been talk of LG Quenton Nelson kicking outside.

  • FA Tackle
Chargers coach Anthony Lynn said Sam Tevi is the favorite to start at left tackle.
Tevi is making the transition to the blindside after spending the last two seasons at right tackle. It’s a questionable move given Tevi allowed eight sacks and 41 hurries in 2019. The Chargers improved their offensive line by signing Bryan Bulaga, but Tevi remains a weak spot.

  • FA Tackle
Chargers OC Shane Steichen listed Sam Tevi atop the team’s options at left tackle for this upcoming season.
The Chargers are expected to hold an open competition for the job in camp following the loss of Russell Okung, and Steichen notably listed Tevi, Trey Pipkins, Trent Scott and Forrest Lamp as options in that order. None significantly move the needle, but 26-year-old Lamp was at least envisioned in that role when Los Angeles selected him as the No. 38 overall pick in 2017. Tevi, for what it’s worth, didn’t play a single snap there last year. Whomever earns the gig will likely be protecting both Tyrod Taylor’s and Justin Herbert’s blindside at some point throughout the year.

  • FA Tackle
Chargers RT Sam Tevi (knee) has been ruled out for the team’s Week 11 matchup against the Chiefs.
Tevi is recovering from a scope to repair a torn meniscus. LT Russell Okung (groin) is questionable after not practicing all week. The offensive line is incredibly banged up and could be without both of their starting tackles in Mexico City. It’s bad news for everyone involved in a Chargers offense presently implied to score a modest 24.25 points.

Chargers OT Sam Tevi underwent arthroscopic knee surgery.
Tevi had a scope to repair a torn meniscus. He’ll miss at least the next few games but should return later this season. With Russell Okung (groin) also sidelined, the Chargers offensive line could be without both its starting tackles going into Week 11.

Chargers selected Utah OL Sam Tevi with the No. 190 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
Tevi (6’5/311) arrived at Utah as a defensive tackle before converting to offensive line for his final three seasons, starting at left tackle as a junior and right tackle as a senior. He never earned all-conference recognition in the Mountain West, and tested as a 20th-percentile athlete before the draft. Nevertheless, Tevi has experience playing a variety of positions in addition to long arms (34") and big hands (10 1/8"). While not a particularly compelling prospect, he’s worth a look based purely on size as O-Line talent across the league continues to evaporate.
