Sebastian Janikowski resumed full kicking duties at Raiders practice Monday.
His mildly injured groin should not be a problem this week.
  • FA Kicker (FG) #11
Sebastian Janikowski (groin) made it through the week of practice without any setbacks and will be at full strength Sunday.
Use him against the Chargers if you normally would.
  • FA Kicker (FG) #11
The Raiders are trying to sign Sebastian Janikowski to a long-term contract extension.
He’s 18 of 21 field goals in 2004, including five of seven from beyond 40 yards.

Seahawks signed K Sebastian Janikowski, formerly of the Raiders, to a one-year contract.
The 40-year-old spent all of last year on injured reserve and wasn’t re-signed by the Raiders, who are moving forward with Giorgio Tavecchio as their kicker. Janikowski boasts one of the strongest legs in football, though his career success rate is barely over 80 percent. Still, he should be a noticeable upgrade on Blair Walsh, who made just 21-of-29 attempts for the Seahawks last season.

Free agent K Sebastian Janikowski announced his retirement after 18 seasons.
Janikowski retires at 41 years old and as the highest-paid kicker in NFL history. Known for his big leg, Janikowski nailed a 63-yard field goal in 2011. In total, Janikowski made 436-of-542 field goal attempts (80.4%) and 605-of-614 extra points (98.5%). He retires ninth all-time for field goals made. He spent 17-of-18 seasons with the Raiders after being taken in the first round(!) of the 2000 draft before finishing his career up in Seattle last season. He made one Pro Bowl and was named second-team All-Pro once.

Sebastian Janikowski matched the record for the NFL’s longest field goal in Monday’s road win over the Broncos, drilling a 63-yarder as time expired in the first half.
It’s a record Janikowski now co-owns with Tom Dempsey and Jason Elam. Elam’s kick also came in the thin air of Denver, though in the old Mile High Stadium. Janikowski’s previous career long was 61, which he made in Week 16 of the 2009 season in Cleveland. Sea Bass is showing no signs of slowing down at age 33.

Sebastian Janikowski tied an NFL record Sunday with three field goals of 50 yards or more in the same game.
Janikowski connected from 54, 55, 50 and 42 yards out for a monster fantasy day. He now has five field goals of 50-plus yards this season. SeaBass’ previous career-high is six.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Raiders K Sebastian Janikowski traveled to Buffalo and will kick against the Bills in Sunday’s Week 2 contest.
On Friday the Oakland Tribune reported that Janikowski allegedly “unlawfully violated” a woman last September, and “did willfully and unlawfully use force and violence upon (her).” No charges were filed at the time. Janikowski is fresh off tying the NFL record for the longest field goal ever in Week 1.

Raiders K Sebastian Janikowski has been charged with misdemeanor battery and false imprisonment of a woman stemming from an incident that occurred last year in Walnut Creak, California.
Janikowski, who tied the NFL record for longest field goal ever last Sunday, allegedly “unlawfully violated” a woman named Syrena Nicholson last September, and “did willfully and unlawfully use force and violence upon (her).” No arrest was made at the time. Janikowski has stayed out of trouble since a string of arrests from 1998-2000 at Florida State. It is believed Janikowski made the team flight to Buffalo for Week 2, and will kick on Sunday.

The Raiders are reportedly considering shutting down K Sebastian Janikowski (hamstring) for a few weeks.
The team will host the traveling circuit of free agent kickers on Friday, as it looks like Sea Bass is almost certain to miss Sunday’s game against the Chiefs. We would never advise carrying two kickers for multiple weeks, so it’s time to consider dropping Janikowski in fantasy leagues.
