Arne Slot reaction — What did Liverpool boss say after disappointing draw with Burnley?
On taking 32 shots, 11 on target, but still drawing: “Of course I am very disappointed about the result. [It says] a lot about ball possession and turning possession into chance creation. Even for our standards, we’ve added even more ball possession than we usually have. This time we were able to create a lot, but not for the first time this season we hardly conceded a chance, but we did concede a goal.”
On Burnley’s goal: “Just before we conceded the 1-1, there was another moment where we tried to bring the ball out from the back, we lost it and that led to a big chance for them where it was almost an own goal. [Alisson] saved us there. And then not much time later, another time we tried to bring the ball out from the back, failed to do so and a great finish from them. That led to them scoring one, and then us — with multiple, multiple, multiple chances — also one, and in the end the result is 1-1.”

“Sometimes there was accuracy [with shots] but the ball was cleared off the line by one of their defenders. We’ve spoke a lot this week and in recent weeks about facing low blocks and how we can create more, and I think today we did. Sometimes in a low-scoring sport, things like this can happen that you are the better team — which is normal for Liverpool to be, at home against Burnley, let me make no mistake about that — creating enough, but not able to win.”
