Over at Anfield: Report says Balotelli off to China or Turkey

AC Milan v Udinese Calcio - Serie A

It’s not much of a surprise that Mario Balotelli’s future lies away from Anfield. The Liverpool striker on loan to AC Milan hasn’t found his form, and there’s still some value to his name.

And might there be a lot?

At 25, Balotelli isn’t younger than most of the players getting big money moves to the Chinese Super League, and even Major League Soccer must raise its eyebrows at the idea of bringing a player of his repute and age into its relatively-nascent home.

Transfermarkt estimates Balotelli’s value at around $11 million. Liverpool paid about $26 million for the Italian, and a CSL team could easily make that break-even price a possibility.

From the Liverpool Echo:

Buoyed by the subsequent appointment of Klopp, Balotelli had spoken about the possibility of returning to Anfield this summer and proving himself to the German.

However, those hopes lie in tatters with Klopp not interested in taking on a striker who is ill suited to the kind of high intensity football the Reds boss is looking to install.

Turkey was also mentioned as a destination for Balotelli, whose time at Liverpool is apparently over. We’d love to see him find his form somewhere.
