Sung-Bum Na has signed a six-year, $12.6 million contract with the Kia Tigers of the Korea Baseball Organization.
Na was posted by the NC Dinos last offseason, but wound up failing to reach an agreement with a major-league team. He’ll likely finish his career in the KBO after landing a massive multi-year deal, which is tied for the largest free agent contract in league history. The power-hitting 32-year-old outfielder clobbered 32 homers across 143 games last season and holds a robust .312/.378/.538 triple-slash over the last nine years in Korea.

According to Sung Min Kim, formerly of The Athletic, Korean outfielder Sung-Bum Na will return to the KBO after failing to reach an agreement with a major-league team, per an SPOTV report.
Na hoped to make the jump to the major leagues after being posted last month, but will return for a ninth season with the NC Dinos after his posting period came to an end. He’s the latest high-profile foreign star unable to reach a deal with a big-league club this offseason. The power-hitting 31-year-old outfielder owns an impressive career .317/.384/.542 triple-slash line, which includes a robust 2020 campaign in which he hit .324/.390/.596 with 34 homers and 112 RBI over 130 games.

Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports that the Korea Baseball Organization’s NC Dinos have posted Sung-Bum Na.
Na, 31, is a career .317/.384/.542 hitter over eight seasons for the Dinos, which includes a .324/.390/.596 line with 34 homers and 112 RBI over 130 games in 2020. He’s also a two-time Gold Glove winner in right field. The left-handed hitting Na does strike out a lot and it’s yet to be determined how he would handle major league velocity. However, he could get a look from MLB clubs as a potential platoon bat.
