    Godley is the most prominent inclusion among the latest round of cuts from Reds’ spring training as they pare down to 50 players left in camp. The 31-year-old righty will open the regular season as organizational pitching depth at Triple-A Louisville.

    Amburgey appeared in just four games at the big-league level with the Yankees last season before sustaining a hamstring injury and being shipped back to the minors. The 27-year-old will supply the Reds with some additional organizational outfield depth next season.

    The 26-year-old was 0-for-4 at the major league level before being sidelined on July 20 with a right hamstring injury. Amburgey carried a .288/.361/.532 slash line over 156 at-bats in Triple-A.

    Amburgey suffered the injury during Sunday’s game against the Red Sox. It was originally described as a cramp, but it turns out he’ll need an extended absence. Estevan Florial will take his spot on the active roster.

    Amburgey appeared to be favoring out a hamstring while running to first base on a double play ball. He was then replaced by Brett Gardner defensively the following frame. Look for manager Aaron Boone to provide an update on his status after the game concludes.

    Amburgey will join the Yankees’ major league roster, presumably as a bench bat, ahead of Thursday night’s second-half opener against the Red Sox. The 26-year-old former 13th-round pick had slashed .307/.376/.555 with six home runs and 34 RBI through 37 games this season at the Triple-A level.
