Long

Long appeared in 49 professional contests with the Chargers between 2019 and 2021, mostly serving as the team’s punter. He converted seven of nine field goals and all nine extra point attempts while filling in for injuries during the 2019 season.

Badgley’s right groin is still giving him trouble, though the Chargers tentatively expect him back against the Texans in Week 3. In the interim, punter Ty Long will add kicking to his list of responsibilities Sunday in Detroit. Long converted all three of his PATs as well as a 40-yarder in last week’s nail-biter against the Colts.
