    Kelsey Mitchell said Wednesday that she developed rhabdomyolysis during Tuesday’s Game 5 loss to the Fever.
    Mitchell experienced a scary episode during the fourth quarter of Tuesday’s game, which the Aces would win in overtime. The veteran guard experienced severe cramping in her legs and required assistance to return to the locker room. Taken to a Las Vegas area hospital, Mitchell said via statement Wednesday afternoon that she was dealing with a case of rhabdomyolysis. Rhabdomyolysis is a rare but potentially life-threatening condition in which the muscles break down, and toxic components of the muscle fibers can enter the bloodstream and kidneys. The condition can also cause numbness and a feeling of paralysis, which is why Mitchell was unable to remain standing at the time. Mitchell said in her statement that, while she is walking slowly, she would be doing fine “very soon.” With the Fever decimated by injuries, Mitchell led the way and carried the team to within one win of the WNBA Finals.
  • Odyssey Sims amassed 27 points (7-of-14 FGs, 12-of-13 FTs), two rebounds, six assists, one steal, one block and one three-pointer during Tuesday night’s Game 5 overtime semifinals loss to the Aces in 41 minutes of play.
    Sims willed the Fever after Kelsey Mitchell checked out of the game with a serious injury with a bit over five minutes left in the third quarter. She became their number one option, someone who could create offense via her ability to get into the paint. That’s part of the reason why both she and Mitchell played so well together. Sims scored 14 of her 27 total points in the fourth and overtime periods and she attempted and made six free throws during those two periods as well. Sims made sure to find Natasha Howard moving off the ball, as she found her four times on Tuesday night. Sims had two more assists throughout the game that went to Mitchell prior to her injury and Aliyah Boston.
  • Kelsey Mitchell has been ruled out for the rest of the Semifinals Game 5 against the Aces after contributing 15 points (4-of-8 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), two rebounds, two assists, steals, blocks and three three-pointers on Tuesday night in 23 minutes of play.
    Mitchell made a three-pointer with 5:45 remaining in the fourth quarter when her leg collided funny with Aces Forward A’ja Wilson. Once the Fever got to their next offensive possession, Mitchell drove and the whistle blew charging her teammate Aliyah Boston with an offensive foul. After that call Mitchell fell to the ground and was down for a while in a lot of pain and took a while to get up. At one point a stretcher came onto the floor to help her up, but she was able to leave with two staffers helping her get to the locker room. In Mitchell’s place, Shey Peddy has played in extended minutes in addition to Aerial Powers.

    Despite being decimated by injuries throughout the season, the Fever are one win away from the WNBA Finals, and Mitchell has been the catalyst. She’s scored at least 19 points in six of Indiana’s seven postseason games and has put up 21 or more in three of the first four games of the semifinals. After shooting a combined 12-of-40 from the field in Games 2 and 3, Mitchell got back on track Sunday afternoon, making 45 percent of her attempts while also being second on the team in assists. The decisive Game 5 is on Tuesday in Las Vegas.

    Mitchell had an unspectacular Game 3. She shot the ball inefficiently regardless of whether she was inside the arc, beyond it, or at the free-throw line. The 2025 all-star’s biggest impact came in the second quarter, scoring nine points and draining a couple of three-pointers during an end-of-quarter run that trimmed the Fever’s deficit from double digits to one point at halftime. She struggled the rest of the way, but volume led her to finish as Indiana’s leading scorer on the evening. For the Fever to avoid elimination on Sunday, Mitchell will likely need to have a more efficient and productive offensive outing.

    Lexie Hull notched 15 points (5-of-16 FGs), three rebounds, two assists, and five three-pointers during Tuesday night’s 90-68 blowout loss to the Aces in 29 minutes of play.
    Hull was ruled questionable prior to tipoff due to a back injury, but she played anyway and had her best game so far this postseason. She hit five three-pointers mostly off of plays where the Aces were congesting the Fever’s driving lanes. A lot of her looks were wide open and she made over 45% of them. Hull also played really physical defense on Jackie Young which made her uncomfortable and then in foul trouble between being guarded by Hull and having to primarily guard Kelsey Mitchell.
  • Kelsey Mitchell finished with 13 points (4-of-14 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), one rebound, five assists, two steals and one three-pointer during Tuesday night’s 90-68 blowout loss to the Aces in 31 minutes of play.
    Mitchell had a much more adverse night on Tuesday as not only did her shots not fall that she usually makes, but the Aces specifically game planned to try to shrink her space and cut off her driving lanes. They forced her to take six three-pointers and she only made one of them and she only made two field goals in the paint. Tuesday night’s performance was her least efficient of the postseason where she shot just 28.6% from the field while in all other postseason games this year Mitchell has shot over 44% from the field.
  • Odyssey Sims accumulated 18 points (7-of-12 FGs, 3-of-5 FTs), seven assists, one steal, and one three-pointer during Tuesday night’s 90-68 blowout loss to the Aces in 32 minutes of play.
    Sims led the Fever scoring the basketball especially when Kelsey Mitchell had an off shooting night in addition to the Aces more aggressive and focused defense. Sims had her most success going downhill and putting pressure on the rim in addition to cutting off the ball to get easier looks right at the basket. She had her most efficient game of the 2025 postseason shooting 58.3% from the floor and her second straight postseason game shooting at least 53% from the field.
  • Kelsey Mitchell notched 34 points (12-of-23 FGs, 6-of-6 FTs), one rebound, three assists, two steals and four three-pointers in the Fever’s Sunday win over the Aces.
    On a day in which A’ja Wilson was named WNBA MVP, Mitchell was Sunday’s best performer in the Aces-Fever Game 1 matchup. From the Jump, she established herself by getting downhill and scoring seven first-quarter points, which she followed with an even more productive 10-point second quarter and 11-point third period. The veteran scorer repeatedly raced up and down the floor and outpaced the Aces’ defense, and when she wasn’t doing that, she punished Las Vegas from behind the three-point line. Including three regular-season games, Mitchell has scored at least 20 points against the Aces on four different occasions this year. She’ll have a chance to find production again in Tuesday’s Game 2.
  • Aliyah Boston posted 14 points (6-of-11 FGs, 2-of-6 FTs), 12 rebounds, six assists, and one steal, during Thursday night’s 87-85 win over the Dream in 34 minutes of play.
    Boston was on triple-double watch with not only a 14/12 double-double but with six assists. It was her third career postseason double-double and she is now tied for the most assists by a center in an elimination game in WNBA history. Boston scored 11 of her total 14 points in the second half and there was no more important score than the pass she received from Odyssey Sims with 7.4 seconds in regulation that won the Fever the game. Boston’s playmaking on Thursday night mostly consisted of her finding shooters for wide open threes once Boston drew double teams from the Dream. She assisted on four Fever three-pointers coming from Kelsey Mitchell, Sims and Shey Peddy.
