Shey Peddy shot 5-of-5 from the field in Sunday’s win over the Mystics, scoring 13 points, with two rebounds, one steal and three three-pointers.
After scoring 26 points in her first two games with the Fever, Peddy endured a five-game stretch totaling five points on 2-of-12 shooting. To say she and the Fever needed a performance like the one offered on Sunday would be an understatement. Peddy did not miss against the Mystics, including a 3-of-3 day from beyond the arc. The veteran guard’s current seven-day contract expires on Tuesday, but one would assume she’ll be signed to a rest-of-season deal that ensures Peddy will be eligible for the postseason. That likely would have been the case even if Peddy had not shot the ball as well as she had on Sunday.

Fever signed Shey Peddy to a second seven-day contract.
Peddy has scored in double figures in both games she’s played since joining the Fever on a seven-day contract on August 19. Given the combination of her production and Indiana’s still being severely shorthanded on the perimeter, the veteran guard getting a second contract is unsurprising. Peddy shot 6-of-7 from the field and scored 16 points in Sunday’s loss to the Lynx.

All of Peddy’s three-pointers were on passes from facilitating center Aliyah Boston and Peddy’s drives were mostly on passes from Lexie Hull. It is quite remarkable that Peddy, a new player to the Fever and their system, has been able to contribute this effectively right away.
  • Fever G Odyssey Sims (groin) is available on Sunday vs. Lynx.
Fever head coach Stephanie White anticipated that Sims was going to play on Sunday night as early as the team’s morning shootaround. White wasn’t sure how many minutes at one time Sims might be able to play but said that Sims just “irritated” her groin and quad. “That happens when you’ve not been playing in a while and get thrown out there,” White said about Sims and her injury. “But I anticipate her playing and we’ll watch her and make sure that we go for shorter bursts.” With these shorter bursts in mind, the Fever will look to recently signed guard Shey Peddy to provide Sims with the appropriate relief.
  • Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever scoring the basketball during Friday night’s 95-90 loss to the Lynx accumulating 27 points (9-of-20 FGs, 4-of-6 FTs), five assists, and five three-pointers in 35 minutes of play.
