South Carolina redshirt senior ZaQuandre White accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl.
With Hassan Haskins reportedly not on the latest Senior Bowl roster, White (6'0/210) was added to the roster. The former JUCO product had a solid season for the Gamecocks this year but wasn’t able to take the starting job over completely. He rushed for 583 yards and two touchdowns on the season and will have a big opportunity to raise his stock in Mobile next week.

  • South Carolina RB ZaQuandre White declared his eligibility for the 2022 NFL Draft.
White (6'0"/210) transferred into South Carolina as a JUCO last year, receiving just 16 carries for 55 yards behind Kevin Harris while hampered by injury. This year he posted 128 yards and a touchdown in the season-opener against Eastern Illinois, and chipped in with another pair of 99+ yard efforts against Florida and Auburn. Though he had a nice stretch of production over the last half of the season, White never wrested control of the Gamecocks’ lead running back job for himself. He averaged 2.17 yards per route run out of the backfield and sports and excellent 153.6 elusiveness rating from PFF thanks to his 29 broken tackles in 89 carries where he gained 557 yards and 6.3 YPC while earning an excellent 85.9 PFF rushing grade. White will try to slide into late round consideration this offseason.

  • South Carolina redshirt senior RB ZaQuandre White rushed for 99 yards on 16 carries and 69 yards and touchdown on three reception in a 21-17 win over Auburn on Saturday night.
White (6'0/210) and Auburn RB Tank Bigsby had a nice back-and-forth duel all game, but the Gamecocks senior ended up getting the last laugh. In the second quarter, White took a dump off in the flat for an easy touchdown. Early in the fourth quarter, White flipped the field with a 33-yard run to set up the Gamecocks to extend their 21-17 lead but it wasn’t to be. This was White’s fourth-straight game with a yards per carry average of seven or more. The Gamecocks take on Clemson next Saturday.

  • South Carolina redshirt senior RB Zaquandre White (undisclosed) is nursing an injury leading up to Saturday’s matchup against Texas A&M.
Head coach Shane Beamer said on Thursday that White (6'0/210) is “banged up.” He has been practicing all week and there are no implications of a questionable status for Saturday’s game against Texas A&M. White was the feature back in last week’s 21-20 win over Vanderbilt. He ran for 65 yards on 12 carries. Kevin Harris injured his ankle last week allowing White to take over. If Harris plays and is healthy, White will take a backseat again on the depth chart.

  • South Carolina junior RB Zaquandre White is listed as the starting running back on the team’s latest depth chart.
It should be noted that while White (6'0/210) is listed first on the depth chart, it was accompanied by three “OR’ designations indicating all four running backs listed will get carries. The other names are, in order, MarShawn Lloyd, Juju McDowell and last year’s SEC leading rusher, Kevin Harris. White carried 12 times for 128 yards and a touchdown in South Carolina’s opener against Eastern Illinois, but has seen just 10 carries for 39 yards in the two games since then. Harris received 16 carries for 31 yards last Saturday, and is still the likely favorite to lead the Gamecocks rushing attack against UGA if he is healthy.

  • South Carolina junior RB Zaquandre White (hamstring) is practicing in full ahead of their game against Tennessee on Saturday.
White (6'0/210) wasn’t listed on the recent depth chart which was topped by running backs Kevin Harris and Deshaun Fenwick, though he is still expected to join the backfield committee. The coaching staff has speculated that White is the most complete back on the roster, but his hamstring ailment has hampered his ability to compete for the starting job. The highly-regarded JUCO transfer finally appears to be making strides in his recovery and should see the first FBS action of his career this Saturday versus Tennessee.

  • South Carolina junior RB Zaquandre White (hamstring) is practicing but still being held back by his injury.
HC Will Muschamp talked about Kevin Harris as being “the most consistent” running back in camp so far and likely in the lead for the time being. However White hasn’t really been able to let loose due to a stubborn hamstring injury. Muschamp said “We need to get him back to where he’s full speed. I think right now, I don’t know that he’s full speed.” The general consensus around the team is they think White is the guy they want to take the job, but Harris and Deshaun Fenwick have worked hard while White recovers. This should be a committee with White having the most appeal of the group.

  • South Carolina redshirt junior RB ZaQuandre White (hamstring) is expected to return to practice on Tuesday.
White (6'0/210) signed on with South Carolina as a four-star JUCO recruit over the winter. With the program already having lost hype frosh MarShawn Lloyd to a season-ending knee injury during preseason prep, redshirt junior White becomes that much of a more important to this offense. White, Deshaun Fenwick and Kevin Harris are all names in the mix for carries this fall.

  • South Carolina redshirt junior RB ZaQuandre White received academic clearance.
White (6'0/210) is expected to arrive at South Carolina next week now that he’s in the academic clear. He signed on with South Carolina out of the JUCO ranks in February. The redshirt junior was the top running back recruit in the 2020 JUCO class. While White comes to the Gamecocks from the community college level, he began his career as a highly regarded prep recruit with Florida State and could make some depth-chart noise upcoming. MarShawn Lloyd and Kevin Harris are among the names White will be competing with in preseason camp.

  • South Carolina signed four-star 2020 JUCO RB ZaQuandre White.
White (6'0/210) reemerging in the collegiate ranks, here. He initially signed with Florida State back in 2017, but things didn’t work out in Tallahassee and the back transferred over to Iowa Western Community College last spring. He’ll try to revive his career with the Gamecocks moving forward. Rivals ranks White as the No. 15 JUCO prospect in the 2020 class.
