Giants selected Pitt OL Adam Bisnowaty with the No. 200 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
Bisnowaty (6’6/304) made 43 starts as the Panthers’ left tackle, earning first-team All-ACC from the conference’s coaches a junior and senior. He made the All-ACC Academic Team all four years. A high school wrestler with a mean streak and freakishly-big hands (11 3/8"), Bisnowaty’s main limitation is 11th-percentile athleticism, likely necessitating a move to right tackle or guard. While NFL scouts are known to be high on his football intelligence, Bisnowaty is a low-ceiling prospect who best projects as a versatile “swing” backup. Bisnowaty was neither a standout run nor pass blocker at Pitt.
  • Giants signed sixth-round OT Adam Bisnowaty to a four-year contract.
The Giants have a weak offensive line, and some expect Bisnowaty to compete for the starting job at right tackle. Our money is still on Bobby Hart winning the gig, but scouts love Bisnowaty’s intelligence.
  • The Record’s Art Stapleton expects sixth-rounder Adam Bisnowaty to push for the Giants’ right tackle job.
Stapleton’s comments come only after seeing Bisnowaty at rookie minicamp, so they deserve to be taken with at least some salt. That said, it is difficult to believe a sixth-rounder with limited athleticism has a chance to earn a starting job, even on the Giants’ underwhelming line. Bobby Hart should enter training camp as the starter on the right side.
  • Giants promoted OT Adam Bisnowaty from their practice squad.
A sixth-round pick this year, Bisnowaty has been on the practice squad all season. He will take the roster spot of Bobby Hart, who was waived on Saturday, and likely get the start at right tackle in the season finale.
