Falcons signed OG Adam Gettis to a one-year contract.
Gettis was a fifth-round pick of the Redskins in 2012 and hasn’t appeared in a game since 2016 with the Giants. He’s made one career start and is mere offseason depth.
  • Redskins selected Iowa OG Adam Gettis with the No. 141 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.
Gettis goes 6-foot-2, 293 and was a 29-game starter at Iowa, with 28 of the starts coming at right guard. He’s probably too small to play a position other than center in the pros, but Gettis is one of the most naturally athletic linemen in the draft and an ideal system fit for the zone-blocking Redskins. He was voted a second-team All-Big Ten selection during his senior season.
  • Redskins signed fifth-round G/C Adam Gettis to a four-year contract.
A favorite of the Sporting News’ Russ Lande, Gettis is undersized at 6-foot-2, 293 pounds, but was one of the top performers amongst all offensive linemen at the Combine. Perfectly suited for Mike Shanahan’s zone-blocking scheme, Gettis should see snaps at center in addition to guard during camp, but will be a pure reserve as a rookie.
  • Giants signed OG Adam Gettis.
Gettis had been on the Raiders’ practice squad. The G-Men need some depth with basically their entire interior line injured.
  • Redskins waived G/C Adam Gettis and CB Bryan Shepherd.
Gettis, a fifth-round pick of the Shanahan regime in 2012, flames out after appearing in 13 games as a special teamer last season. Thanks to plus athleticism, he should get another shot elsewhere.
  • Free agent G/C Adam Gettis will work out for the Giants on Tuesday.
Gettis was waived by the Redskins last week. He’d be an upside flier for the G-Men’s shaky offensive line, but showed very little in two years in Washington.
