Coach Pat Shurmur suggested that Toledo undrafted rookie RB Adonis Thomas has a chance to take the final running back spot this year.
“He performed well in the rookie minicamp, and since that time he has done the same thing,” said Shurmur. “He’s quick. He understands how to run the football, and when we have thrown him the ball, he has done a nice job of catching it.” Thomas, 5'9" and 185 pounds, rushed 171 times for 1,071 yards (6.3 YPC) while reeling in 31 passes for 350 yards as a senior.
