McRae

McRae made a pair of relief appearances for the White Sox last season, but spent the majority of the year at Triple-A Charlotte, posting an underwhelming 5.38 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 86/42 K/BB ratio across 88 2/3 innings (26 appearances, 18 starts). The 28-year-old righty will look to rebuild his value in the independent American Association next season.

McRae has refused an outright minor-league assignment and will head to free agency this offseason. The 28-year-old righty reliever made just two appearances at the big-league level for the White Sox this past season, but wound up tossing 88 2/3 frames over 26 appearances (18 starts) at Triple-A Charlotte. He should be able to latch on as an innings-eater somewhere this offseason.

The club needed to clear a spot on the 40-man roster. It’s the second time since last fall that McRae has been outrighted by the Pale Hose.

McRae served as the White Sox’ 27th man for Friday’s seven-inning twin-billing against the Royals. He allowed one run on three hits over an inning of work in the first game of the doubleheader. The 28-year-old righty has ping-ponged between the major-league roster and Triple-A over the first six weeks of the 2021 campaign.

McRae will serve as the 27th man for Friday’s doubleheader versus the Royals. He’s made one scoreless appearance for the Sox this season.

McRae was called up in late April, but wound up making only one relief appearance for the White Sox during his brief stint on the major-league roster. He should get the call the next time they’re in need of bullpen reinforcements.

McRae will join the White Sox ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Tigers and work in mid-relief.

McRae was only up for a few days and had two scoreless appearances. He should get another shot eventually.

McRae cleared waivers after being designated for assignment and will remain in the organization. He went three scoreless innings in two appearances this season.
