Packers fired WRs coach Alvis Whitted.
“We want to thank Alvis for all that he contributed to our success this season,” said coach Matt LaFleur in a statement issued Thursday night. “He’s a great man and we wish nothing but the best for him, his wife Tracy and the rest of their family moving forward.” Outside of Davante Adams, the Packers got extremely limited production from their receivers this season. Whitted shoulders some of the blame, though he also didn’t have a ton to work with. A former receiver with the Jaguars, Falcons and Raiders during his playing career, Whitted was one-and-done with Green Bay.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Alvis Whitted caught one pass for 12 yards on Monday night.
Whitted couldn’t capitalize on his newfound starting status due to brutal pass protection by the Raiders’ offensive line and Aaron Brooks’ subsequent struggles. He’s worth holding on to as long as he’s starting.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Raiders WR Alvis Whitted is reportedly expected to start in Week 1.
It’s Chargers beat writers projecting Monday night’s lineup, but it shows there’s no clear starter opposite Randy Moss in Oakland. Jerry Porter, Whitted, and Ron Curry all have a shot to be with the ones on game day.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Raiders coach Art Shell told the Associated Press that Alvis Whitted will start opposite Randy Moss vs. San Diego on Monday night.
Whitted, who will likely draw Chargers CB Drayton Florence, is worth a roster spot in most league formats. Still, we expect him to split snaps with Jerry Porter and Ronald Curry, making it tough to count on any of them putting up numbers across from Randy Moss.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Raiders added wide receiver Alvis Whitted to the injury report as questionable with a leg injury.
He suffered the injury during Wednesday’s practice. Whitted is expected to play, but now Whitted, Doug Gabriel, and Ronald Curry are all questionable. At this point, all three are expected to play.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Wide receiver Alvis Whitted (hip), running back Justin Fargas (toe), guard Ron Stone (knee), linebacker Travian Smith (knee) and cornerback Charles Woodson (hip) did not practice for the third straight day.
Coach Norv Turner said Fargas and Whitted are questionable. The three others likely won’t play, though a final determination won’t be made until Sunday morning.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Alvis Whitted, not Ronald Curry, will start in place of Jerry Porter if Porter is unable to play Thursday.
Both Porter and the team were optimistic he’d play after practicing all week. The team doesn’t want to weaken two positions by moving Curry out of the slot, and would reward Whitted for a strong training camp.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Alvis Whitted caught two passes for 29 yards in week one.
Whitted played most of the second half for Ronald Curry and sometimes over Jerry Porter in two receiver sets. He’s someone to at least keep an eye on an explosive passing offense.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Alvis Whitted didn’t have a catch in week two.
With Doug Gabriel returning soon, Whitted could lose playing time.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Alvis Whitted caught four passes for 34 yards in week six.
He will be the team’s third receiver as long as Randy Moss is out.
