Nebraska junior RB Anthony Grant rushed 19 times for 98 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday’s 31-28 loss to Northwestern.
Grant (5'11/197) shined in his regular season debut for the Huskers, despite the loss. The JUCO transfer found pay dirt early in the third quarter to put Nebraska up 21-17, and ran for a 46-yard touchdown three plays later after a turnover by Northwestern. Grant also added one reception for 16 yards, as he operated as Nebraska’s lead back on Saturday. His 19 carries led the team, with no other player on Nebraska totaling more than three rush attempts. Nebraska will look to rebound from their 0-1 start when they host North Dakota next Saturday.
