Ravens hired assistant special teams coach Anthony Levine as their special teams coordinator.
Levine spent his NFL career as a special teams standout for the Ravens, joining the team as an assistant special teams coach after retirement. With Chris Horton following John Harbaugh to the Giants’ coaching staff, Baltimore had a vacancy. Head coach Jesse Minter knows Levine from his days as a defensive assistant with the Ravens and now hires the 38-year-old as his special teams coordinator.

Bills interviewed Ravens assistant special teams coach Anthony Levine for their special-teams coordinator vacancy.
Levine, a long-time special teams standout for the Ravens in a decorated playing career, is the latest to interview for the Buccaneers special teams coordinator job. Levine may or may not be interested in coming along with John Harbaugh to join the Giants, so he has a lot of options on paper. The Buccaneers also reportedly interviewed Eagles special teams coordinator Michael Clay for the role in what would be a lateral move.
  • Defensive Tackle
Ravens promoted NT Justin Ellis from the practice squad.
Ellis appeared in their Week 1 game against the Raiders, logging one tackle on 19 defensive snaps. He was a surprising cut at the deadline for Baltimore to finalize their roster but moving him between the practice squad and active roster was always their plan. The Ravens also promoted defensive back Anthony Levine Sr. to the active roster.

    Ravens re-signed S Anthony Levine.
34-year-old Levine has spent his entire nine-year career in Baltimore and is signing on for at least a 10th one. He’s a stalwart on special teams for the Ravens and only saw 3% of the defensive snaps in 2020.

  • PIT Safety #25
The Ravens view third-year FS DeShon Elliott as a “capable starter.”
Elliott has rarely been healthy — he spent his rookie year on IR and missed the final 10 games last season to a knee injury. With speculation the Ravens could move on from Earl Thomas, Elliott would be the next up. The Ravens have seventh-rounder Geno Stone and Anthony Levine behind Elliott. They’ve also mentioned moving Jimmy Smith to safety in some packages.

33 years old later this week, Levine has been the backbone of the Ravens’ special teams units for years and has been in Baltimore since 2012.

    Packers waived S Anthony Levine.
A 2011 undrafted free agent out of Tennessee State, Levine still has practice squad eligibility. He did not appear in any games last season.

    Ravens re-signed DB Anthony Levine.
Levine played 109 snaps on defense last year, splitting his time between strong safety and slot corner. He’s a core special teamer.

The Ravens have moved Anthony Levine back to safety.
Levine was forced into corner duty last season as the Ravens got trucked by injuries at the position. He held up surprisingly well, but the team clearly prefers him at his more natural safety spot. Levine will back up Will Hill, Kendrick Lewis and Matt Elam while also playing a core special teams role.

Ravens re-signed DB Anthony Levine to a two-year, $2.2 million contract.
The Ravens didn’t tender Levine as a restricted free agent, but are bringing him back on a multi-year. He can play safety, corner, and special teams.
