Armando Rivera is dealing with shoulder soreness.
Per Mark Bowman of MLB.com, this soreness developed during Rivera’s offseason pitching work in Venezuela. The 29-year-old right-hander joined the Braves as the No. 5 pick in the Rule 5 draft this past December, coming over from the the Cubs. In 2016, he pitched to a 2.13 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 105/35 K/BB ratio across 67 2/3 relief frames at Triple-A Iowa. He has a chance to make the Opening Day bullpen, though this bout of shoulder soreness could throw a wrench into his spring preparation.
