After months of opposition and deliberation, the Pacific-12 college football season officially begins this weekend. It’s a six-game regular season slate that culminates with the conference championship game on Friday, December 18.
Here are this weekend’s matchups with betting lines from PointsBet Sportsbook.[[ad:athena]]
Arizona State at USC (-10.5, 58.5)
Arizona at Utah (-14, 57)
UCLA (-6, 57) at Colorado
Stanford at Oregon (-10.5, 54)
Washington at California (-1, 46.5)
Washington State (-2.5, 66.5) at Oregon State
There’s only one play for me and that’s Oregon State plus the points. I actually think the wrong team is favored because I’m a big believer in Beavers head coach Jonathan Smith. He took over an awful squad that finished 1-and-11 and certainly has things on the up and up. OSU won two games in Smith’s first year and five games last year.
Smith is a tremendous play caller and he believes he’s got his quarterback with Tristan Gebbia. The Calabasas, Calif. native transferred from Nebraska in 2018 so he’s had two years to learn the schematics and grow inside the offense. Stability is everything in this conference.
Meanwhile, Washington State is reeling from losing head coach Mike Leach to Mississippi State. They’re installing a brand new offense this season and they’ve had very few practices to get everybody on the same page. Also, their defense isn’t going to stop anybody. It’s pretty surprising that Wazzou is favored on the road.
Play on Oregon State +2.5.
