How to bet the Thursday Night Football matchup between Jaguars vs Jets

Jaguars at Jets (-1): O/U 37.5

Zach Wilson is making his first Primetime start in the NFL on a short week after losing to the Lions, 20-17 at home.

The good news for the Jets is they stay home on this short week, but after the Jaguars win over the Cowboys, Jacksonville is looking to take control of the AFC South.

With Wilson as the starter, the Jets are 8-13 on the ML (38.1%) and lost three of the past four, per NBC’s Edge Finder (see below). New York is is 10-11 ATS (47.6%) with Wilson overall and 5-5 ATS (50%) and 4-6 on the ML (40%) at home with the former BYU quarterback.

The Jags’ Trevor Lawrence has one Primetime start in his career coming versus the Bengals, covering the +7.5, but losing the road game, 24-21.

The Jets have lost three-straight games and four out of five since the bye week, slowly falling out of the postseason race, while the Jaguars have won two-straight and three of the past four, streaking towards the playoffs.

Some books list the Jaguars as a favorite and they are 0-5 ATS and on the ML as a favorite with Lawrence, but have started to fix their road woes (won two road games this year), so possibly they could fix their woes as a favorite.

After betting New York versus Detroit and taking in the Zach Wilson experience, I cannot do it again and on a short week at that. These are two teams heading in different directions and I like where Jacksonville is going.

I grabbed the Jaguars +1 at -115 odds and would play the ML.

Pick: Jaguars +1 (1u)
