Sunday Night Football will present an NFC East clash between the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys live on NBC and Peacock! Last year, these two teams had one of the most electric games of the season Week 2 in Dallas, which resulted in a Cowboys 40-37 OT win. The Giants won 34-17 in the 2025 season finale, but the Cowboys benched most of its team as they were out of the postseason.
New York will host Dallas in John Harbaugh‘s Giants debut. Harbuagh walks into a team with its franchise quarterback, Jaxson Dart, a star receiver in Malik Nabers, and up-and-comers all over the offense and defense. However, the wins haven’t come. The Giants finished the season 4-13, but were 2-13 entering the final two weeks. New York was 3-14 in 2024, so that’s a 7-27 record over the last 34 games.
Dallas has won seven games in back-to-back seasons and will look to get over the hump in 2026. Dak Prescott is coming off one of his best seasons with the addition of George Pickens, and that comes with CeeDee Lamb missing three games. The Cowboys traded Micah Parsons away last season and Dallas ended up allowing an NFL-worst 30.1 points per game overall and 30.4 at home. How much the Cowboys defense has improved remains to be seen, but we’ll get a good idea on Sunday night!
Let’s dive into the numbers and see if we can’t find an additional sweat or two.

Expert picks & predictions for Cowboys at Giants
Vaughn Dalzell (@VmoneySports) leans the first half Over 24.5 points:
“So far both primetime games went Under the total by a wide margin. I took the Under in Rams vs 49ers because it’s a Week 1 divisional matchup, but both the Giants and Cowboys defenses grade out a lot lower than the opposing offenses. These squads were money makers to the first half over last year and could be the case again. I may get involved in the first half over, but would like a 23.5 rather than 24.5.”

Quarterback matchup for Cowboys at Giants
· Dallas: Dak Prescott – The longest tenured Cowboy is coming off a pretty impressive season. Prescott ranked top five in yards (4,552), touchdowns (30), QB rating (70.2), plus led the NFL in completions (404) and was second in attempts (612). With CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens back for another year, Prescott should be poised for another 4,000-yard and 30-touchdown season.
· New York: Jaxson Dart – Dart got his first start in Week 3 versus the Chargers and came out with a 20-13 win, including two touchdowns. The Giants went 4-8 with Dart as the starter and lost seven straight games at one point. Despite that, the Giants faithful believe he is the franchise quarterback after 24 total touchdowns, five interceptions, and over 2,700 yards. There are high expectations for his second season and a good chance Dart could lead all quarterbacks in rushing touchdowns after nine in 12 games as a rookie.
