Wednesday, we are treated to the Europa League final, Frankfurt vs. Rangers. When I asked myself if I wanted to bet on this game, my initial thought was to look at Ranger’s moneyline price. At +210, it makes total sense for anyone who wants to back the Scottish powerhouse. I will probably be rooting for the Rangers, but financially, I will find value in another aspect of the match. You can find these odds on PointsBet Sportsbook.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Rangers (Wednesday, 3 p.m. ET)

Three-way Moneyline: Frankfurt (+140) | Draw (+220) | Rangers (+195)

Both teams to score (-130)

Both teams earned a trip to Sevilla, Spain, as they toppled two powerhouses in their semifinal matches. The Europa League final is a one-leg match played at a neutral location for those who don’t know. This year they are playing at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in Sevilla, Spain. Luckily for Frankfurt, they don’t have to travel to Ibrox Stadium in Glasgow. Rangers hold one of the most significant home-field advantages in football. A neutral location final makes me a little more shy to back goals all the way. However, I don’t mind backing both teams to score (-130) in this match.

Why Frankfurt will score:

While Frankfurt failed to finish top-10 in the Bundesliga, they have been relatively efficient in Europa League. They have found the back of the net in every match they have played. Some might argue that they have not had the most challenging road to the finals, but I beg to differ. They scored four goals on Barcelona and three on West Ham. Two clubs who will be playing in Europe next year.

Domestically they were a team this season where you could basically blind bet both teams to score in every game. BTTS hit at a 65% clip both home and away. BTTS has hit in every Europa match but two. They weren’t one of the highest-scoring teams averaging just 1.32 goals per game this season, but they have the offensive talent in Rafael Santos Borre and Daichi Kamada to find the back of the net.

Why Rangers will score:

Rangers played one of the best strategies in Europa this season. They played compact and in a shell on the road, then opened the game up at home, hoping to outscore their opponent. It worked. They earned a trip to the finals. Domestically Rangers were one of the highest-scoring teams averaging 2.11 goals per game both home and away with a 2.27 xG.

The most significant change for Rangers is playing this match away from home. At Ibrox Stadium, their defense is a brick wall. They are only allowing 0.63 goals per match. Away from home, that number jumps to one goal per match with an xGA of 1.06. They only had a BTTS percentage of 42% at home this season but 63% on the road.

It’s a big blow with Alfredo Morelos out. However, Rangers still have the talent to find the back of the net. This game has 1-1 potential, so I am only playing both teams to score (-130).
