Bobby McCray may replace defensive end Paul Spicer in Jacksonville’s starting lineup.
It’s either McCray or converted tackle Rob Meir. Neither are great fantasy options, even in deep IDP leagues.
  • Free agent DE Bobby McCray worked out for the Raiders on Wednesday.
McCray was released by the Saints after getting beaten out by undrated rookie Junior Galette. He may be able to help as a nickel rusher, but his time as a difference-maker is over.
  • Saints LE Bobby McCray worked out with the first team over recently-signed Alex Brown in Thursday’s OTAs.
Brown signed a two-year deal in April after former starter Charles Grant was released in March. McCray is likely getting the first crack at the left end job because he’s been on the team longer. Brown is a better early-down run-stopper, however, so we’d give him the slight edge to win the battle.
  • Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio says there have been no recent talks between the team and disgruntled restricted free agent Bobby McCray.
McCray was extended a $1.85 million tender but wants a long-term deal after a ten-sack season. He hasn’t been taking part in the Jags’ offseason program.
  • JAX Defensive Lineman
Jaguars DE Paul Spicer doesn’t know if he’ll start once Bobby McCray returns from his minicamp holdout and Reggie Hayward (Achilles’) gets healthy.
McCray hasn’t participated at early workouts, while Hayward says he expects to be ready for training camp. Spicer is likely locked in as a starter for now.
  • The Jaguars signed restricted free agent DE Bobby McCray to a one-year, $1.85 million, contract on Wednesday.
McCray, who will be an unrestricted free agent after the season, ends any possibility of a holdout.
  • Jaguars DE Bobby McCray has been inserted into the starting lineup ahead of Paul Spicer.
He’ll start opposite Reggie Hayward, who is coming back from a torn Achilles. McCray, a speedy pass rusher, amassed 10 sacks in 12 starts last season.
  • CIN Guard
Restricted free agent Titans G Jacob Bell will sign his $1.85 million contract tender Wednesday.
The fourth-year guard and the Titans will continue to discuss a long-term deal. Bell is considered one of the better young interior linemen in the league. The last remaining unsigned restricted free agent in the league is Jacksonville DE Bobby McCray, who will probably sign shortly.
  • JAX Defensive Lineman
Jaguars DE Reggie Hayward (groin) is not expected to play in Week 15.
The Jags used usual tackle Rob Meier outside at end in Week 14 against the Panthers, instead of third DE Bobby McCray. They’ve basically admitted that bringing back McCray at a high restricted free agent tender was a mistake.
